LIVE 24-SEVEN FACING THE FACTS:
WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS IF I DON’T WANT A SURGICAL FACELIFT?
Dr Claire Oliver (BDS) reviews the most popular treatments in the Warwickshire and West Midlands. It’s a very exciting time in the world of aesthetics as the number of incredible non-surgical aesthetic treatments increases and, in particular, the number of options now available to us as an alternative to a surgical facelift.
FACIAL THREADS LIFTS – INCLUDING PDO THREADS LIFT AND SILHOUETTE SOFT
To wake up deeper layers of collagen Ultherapy® an innovative, skin-lifting treatment which works at the skin’s foundational layer (the same area where plastic surgeons work to perform a face lift). Ultherapy® uses high-tech ultrasound energy to stimulate and remodel your collagen and tissue and causes no harm or damage to your skin.
Proven to be highly effective, Ultherapy® is the only non-invasive treatment cleared for skin lifting by the FDA so you can be confident that you will achieve the results you desire. Results appear over 2-3 months as the new collagen builds, gradually lifting the skin on the upper and lower face, neck and décolletage.

One of the most popular treatments is a Facial Treads Lifts which has been proven to counteract the effects of facial volume loss. The minimally invasive procedure involves the insertion of polypropylene threads under the skin of the face using a ‘tunnelling technique. Pulling the threats taut and anchoring one end in the deep tissues produces lifting of lax tissues. Scar tissue subsequently forms around the threads anchoring the facial skin in the elevated positions.
Results last between 12 – 24 months. Scaring should be negligable, bruising may occur and downtime, whilst shorter than a surgical facelift, varies between 5 – 14 days.
PDO Threads Lift is generally effective for patients with heavier skin, a greater level of dropping and moderate to advanced skin laxity Silhouette Soft offers natural looking and instant results for those with mild to moderate skin laxity.
ULTHERAPYRY®
Top Tip: most clients report being delighted with their results after a single treatment, however, additional benefit can be achieved with more treatments if desired.
‘8 POINT’ FACE LIFT
The ‘8 Point’ Face Lift is a favourite treatment of mine. Its wholly non-surgical and natural way to tighten and lift the face quickly, with no downtime. Using a combination of FDA-cleared Facial Fillers and anti-wrinkle injections, experienced and skilled practitioners are able to specifically address each problem area of the face and neck to achieve a natural result.
This treatment provides truly remarkable results and is virtually pain free and safe. Pain and swelling are minimal and a topical anaesthetic cream is used to ensure you are comfortable.
Top Tip: combine the ‘8 Point’ Face Lift with a short course of skin rejuvenation treatments to further improve texture and tone of the skin.
