Welcome to the latest issue of Welcome

February the month of love. From Valentine’s traditions from around the world, to how to love your feet, we have it covered this month. Valentine’s Day can be lonely but as you will see in the feature not all countries limit the day just to couples but also use it as a day to celebrate friendships, with chocolates, homemade gifts and even poetry. Or why not organise a dinner party to share your evening with friends, or use it as an opportunity to meet new people.

More than ever we should all be thinking about how we can prevent waste, asking ourselves do we really need this or thinking can what we are about to throw away have a second life. KFR is a fantastic charity helping prevent a lot of still useful furniture and white goods from going to landfill and helping support the local community, in this issue Dan Thompson explains how they have been able to create more space and improved facilities at their Hopton Park unit, read more on page 15.

Our walk this month starts on the outskirts of the town and takes in Etchilhampton Hill and some wonderful views. There are no stiles or gates and in fact you could choose to start at a variety of points, including by Nursteed Primary School, or in Coate. Even after all the rain that we have had it wasn’t too muddy though you would still want to wear boots!
