The Loughborough University stadium is home to Loughborough University Football Club, the Loughborough Foxes and for 15 games a year also the Derby County under s. ddional tournaments, student xtures, the occasional rugby and lacrosse games mae for a very busy schedule. aturally this resents considerable challenges to


the grounds team. ris urse The biggest challenge we have is eeing the standard we need to host high role games at the stadium. e have already hosted 30 games from ugust unl the end of ovember and have an average of 3 games a wee throughout winter. ith the sunlight gone and no undersoil heang, we struggle with recovery in the stadium.”


SGL’s BU50 is developed to be aordable for sports clubs or venues with limited budgets. The BU50 was launched at Saltex as the rst product in the SGL Basic Line range. Saltex visitors could sign up to win a free 3 month trial. Loughborough University was chosen out of almost 100 competors and will now be the rst ever university to use SGL grow lights.


ris e have never used grow lights before and can’t wait to use them to improve recovery on our goal mouths and other high wear areas. e will also be overseeding and will use the BU50 together with germinaon sheets to aid growth.”


The BU50 adds light as well as addional heat to the surface, enabling grass growth and recovery throughout the winter months whilst improving grass quality all year round.
