LIVE 24-SEVEN -COMMENT

WELCOME TO L I V E 2 4 - S E V EN

Not long now! The countdown to Christmas Day has officially begun and whilst we excitedly shop for those we love and prep for the feast, it's also a time for giving to those in need. Susanna has written about her 'reverse advent calendar' in her December column. Each day she buys something for a particular charity and then hands it over on Christmas Eve or before if she's organised – which she is! She chose a local dogs’ home and placed toys, food and treats in a box – a truly lovely idea. It goes someway to balancing out the indulgence of the Christmas season.

I can't tell you how lovely it was interviewing Liz Bonnin for this issue; her passion for our planet and the natural world is contagious. She shared with me some of her most precious moments, to include a very funny interaction with meerkats. Being that time of year, I also asked her what she would like to see gifted this Christmas…read the interview to be moved and motivated by so many of her answers.

With so many fantastic local independents, gift shopping for those we love is easy, but for those that need a little inspiration to get them started, our third and final gift guide should help. Anyone who knows me would say that I love sequins any time of the year, but at Christmas they're really part and parcel of an invitation right? It's therefore unsurprising that they make an appearance in my party edit picks... a little something for the office Christmas party? Talking of the office party, Claire's column this month is must-read, especially if you want to avoid the walk of shame back into the office the next day...
