The SCR Chambers: Sheffield

Sheffield Chamber of Commerce

Support. Grow. Connect. What we do

The Sheffield Chamber of Commerce is a membership organisation here to support, connect and grow local businesses across the region.

Law firm takes pride in support

Long-established law firm Wosskow Brown, with eight offices across the region, who launched the Wosskow Brown Foundation five years ago have received some welcome news. The foundation has been providing business

growth support to local entrepreneur Hugo Russell, founder of NowThen Cleaners, since Hugo started the business four years ago. NowThen Cleaners have been shortlisted for the ‘High Growth’ category in the 2019 Sheffield Business Awards, after a stunning performance by the business over the past year. Jim Lawson, Director of the Wosskow

Brown Foundation, said: “We literally helped Hugo right from the off. While he was still working in London we provided him a room to do staff interviews at our office - every Friday he would travel up to do that, before moving back to Sheffield full-time. Hugo applied for support under our WB100 programme and we provided him with a free office, wi-fi and phones for his first 12 months in our business incubation space, to help get established. Ian Brown, Managing Partner of Wosskow

Brown, said: “The partners at Wosskow Brown believed we could provide inspiration and opportunity to help our local economy through the work of the Foundation and Hugo is living proof of that. He is creating local jobs.”

The Wosskow Brown Foundation has helped or connected with over 900 organisations in the past five years
