Head Office received notice today that Bryanne Sheppard has decided to step down and not run for Director on Saturday October 5th, Annual General Meeting.

Therefore, congratulations to both Scott Reid

and Amanda McCormack who were nominated for Directors last month. They will be our new Directors without requiring a formal election. We will still hold our AGM meeting on Saturday to discuss cur- rent issues in the Lower Level Meeting room at Ajax Downs, along with our Horsemens get together after in the VIP room. We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday at 1pm.

New Horse Purchase Program We intend to purchase several horses to make

them available to our owners and trainers as part of a lease/purchase program. We will find them, in- spect them via x-ray, gather import documents and import them into Canada. Once here we will distrib- ute to interested parties on a first come first served basis. We are prepared to import as many horses as are needed to ensure that our population increases in 2020. If you might be interested in one of these

horses please contact the QROOI and get your in- formation on the list. If you have already put your name in at the

QROOI, we are looking to schedule a meeting in October to finalize the program with the interested parties.

AGCO Licenses It is a requirement of the Quarter Horse Racing

Industry Development Program (QHRIDP) that an ownership entity enrolling a horse in the Program or otherwise receiving benefits from the Program must be licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). Formerly, all licenses expired in March of each

racing year, resulting in delays in obtaining license renewals. As a result, QHRIDP participants were granted an extension with respect to this require- ment.

Recently the AGCO changed its policy such

that individual Quarter Horse licences now expire on the licensee's birth date. Licenses can be renewed at any time through the AGCO Head Office. Accordingly, going forward, the QHRIDP will

require that any ownership entity enrolling horses in the Program be licensed as at the date of enrollment. Horses will not be enrolled until the owner holds a current AGCO license.
