So sad, the rides are over for another sea-

son. The OTRA directors will soon be plan- ning the 2020 ride schedule. Yipee! The Fun-D-Ride, July 5-7, was an over-

whelming success but I was terribly remiss by failing to thank Inter-City Insurance for spon- soring the scrumptious lunch. Dufferin Forest, Sept. 27-29, host Elaine

Wiesner / Sonja Wyss. We had three rides going out each day to accommodate everyone. We cel- ebrated the sixty-first birthday of the youngest sixty-one year old ever, Karen Rickers. We also recognized and celebrated our own Sherri Bal- lantyne. A forty year veteran of OTRA still rid- ing hard and long on her six year old appaloosa, Hausney. Thanks everyone for a great OTRA campout weekend to end the Dufferin Forest camping season. Rain didn’t dampen our spirits, just slowed us down a bit and by the time we got ready to ride out it was raining again. We must love our Muddy Creek rain coats because five of us were sporting them on Sunday. This would have made a great promo for the company. lol. Saturday night celebrated Karen’s birthday with a feast then a fire and Sunday took Elaine and Gord’s new boy Smoke on his first forest group trail ride. Who would have expected they could pony and walk the entire ride!!! He is going to be a fine trail horse. Nice to see so many out! Yvonne Taylor Dundas Valley Day Ride, Oct. 6, hosts,

Lana English / Laurie Panagiotou. Despite the threatening weather forecast we had a presenta-

ble turnout and a bang-up ride. One gal drove two and one half hours to ride with us while a couple of others drove more than one hour. They were not disappointed. A tailgate party with a variety of food, including hot soup, rounded out the day perfectly. Thank you for joining us. Vivian Forest, Oct. 11-14, host Helmut

Hitscherich. Helmut’s annual Thanksgiving campout weekend is an Ontario Trail Riders tra- dition. Twenty-two riders juggled between home family celebrations and riding in the Vi- vian with their OTRA family. Cool nights for camping but super nice days for riding. The Thanksgiving potluck dinner was Saturday night. Grand way to end our 2019 OTRA ride schedule. Look for OTRA again at the, 2nd Annual

Christmas Equestrian Trade Show, December 7th at the Shelburne Legion. OTRA’s directors are looking at dates for

our annual AGM. Details to follow. Lana English
