Established fruit farm in Mereworth, Kent requires an experienced person to run our large weekly payroll which is comprised of seasonal and permanent employees. Working within a small and friendly administration team in a new office in a rural location, your duties will include:


• Running weekly payroll including data entry • Actioning starters/leavers • Assisting with onboarding new employees • Actioning statutory payments • Dealing with queries • General administration including filing • Monthly/weekly filing of FPS submissions in accordance with RTI • Setting up employees in pension schemes in line with auto-enrolment


Part time role, 3 – 5 days per week depending on time of year, standard hours 9.00 am -2.30 pm

Senior Journalist/ Deputy Editor required


Mail Publications, publishers of the Downs Mail, Maidstone and Malling's number one newspaper and its quarterly sister publication, Mid Kent Living, is looking for an experienced, all-round senior journalist.


The role entails all aspects of newspaper work, so a sound knowledge of reporting, news gathering, news editing, sub-editing and proof-reading is needed. The successful candidate will also drive content to our expanding daily news website and contribute features into our popular magazine, Mid Kent Living, and have the necessary skills to help manage a small dedicated team and deputise for the Editor.


Some evening and weekend working will be required. Local knowledge is an advantage but not essential. A sense for strong campaigning, community journalism is a must.


Ideally, the successful candidate will have a full NCTJ qualification or equivalent and a minimum of five years’ experience in a news media environment.

WE URGENTLY NEED VOLUNTEERS TO HELP IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:


• To staff the hospital shop which is stocked with a wide variety of sandwiches,crisps, drinks, toiletries, greetings cards, sweets, chocolate, etc.


• To take trolleys (containing sweets, drinks, toiletries, etc.) round the wards. • Staff our busy tea bar. • Sell books in the book room.


The League of Friends is a registered charity and all monies raised ensures that it can respond to requests for equipment in the hospital.
