If you have not yet checked out the new sound and sorrroundings of the Norwich Arts Centre, here is a great show to do it with.
Acid Mothers Temple was formed in 1995 by Kawabata Makoto.. Now with a history of over two decades, and a discography of over one hundred releases, which is not to mention the numerous solo and side-project releases which encompass everything from drone, acid-folk, acapella, to minimalist composition, the group show no signs of relenting in the pace of their creative energy.

In December 2017 Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso UFO welcomed new vocalist Jyonson Tsu,and performed aninitial showtogether in Tokyo at the Annual Acid Mothers Temple Festival. Sadly this era also marked the departure from the band of long-standing member Mitsuru Tabata. This new incarnation of the AMT collective, featuring founders Kawabata and Higashi, at the helm, plus the recently recruited rhythm section of Sakamoto and Uchida who joined the group in 2015. The band tour Europe in this new incarnation for the first time in Autumn 2018.
OCTOBER 18-26 Norwich Science Festival yet! The Forum, Norwich
The Festival, which runs in October half-term (18–26 October), and back for 4th year. It is 9 days of science fun for all ages and levels of knowledge with over 180 events. The wide programme covers food, health and medicine; zoology, nature and the environment; chemistry; technology and engineering; astronomy, space and physics, and the cutting-edge work by scientists at Norwich Research Park. Highlights include: Headline speaker conservationist Dr Jane Goodall, Prof Ben Garrod;; a panel debate on social media and its impact on teenage mental health, with TV and radio presenters Katie Thistleton and Dr Radha Modgil;
There’s also science-inspired exhibitions, films and theatre shows, plus from Saturday 19 October, there’s free family- friendly activities, hands-on fun and talks each day at The Forum, for all ages.
The Festival is coordinated by The Forum and a partnership of organisations and institutions, including Norwich Research Park and the University of East Anglia, who have over 200 people taking part.
