Friday 30th August was a great first meeting of the neighbourhood plan (NP) steering group since the newly elected Parish Council. There seems to be some really excellent thoughts about how we can engage and put together a neighbourhood plan that works for our entire community and the steering group is really looking forward to a full relaunch in the next few months. Many areas of the country from St Ives to Margate are considering or have completed their own Neighbourhood Plans giving those areas direct power to shape the development and growth of their local area based on their collective vision. The steering group currently has four vacancies so we are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a passion for Braunton parish to meet six-weekly and to help shape our NP. We also need to start gathering volunteers with an equal passion to help us make a success of the project. We're really keen to hear from anyone in the parish who'd like to take part and we would love more representation from outlying parts of the parish such as Lobb, Pippacott, Halsinger, Winsham, Upcott, Nethercott etc.
With help from the entire parish we will be able to enable our community to make meaningful decisions about the way our village grows over the next decades. So, if you'd like to take part, please contact Tracey Lovell, Parish Clerk who will ask one of the current members of the NP Steering Group to respond to your enquiry or if you've got questions or suggestions then mail them to
