Learn with Kent Wildlife Trust
Summer may be over, but care of Kent’s wide variety of plants and wildlife continues. Most of us can’t grow forests or plant fi elds of wildfl owers, but increasingly we are asking what we can do to make a difference, however small. If you want to fi nd out more about the amazing Kent countryside and how to look after it, then a course run by Kent Wildlife Trust could be just the thing to increase your confi dence and meet like-minded people. Learning about Sustainable Living will investigate your carbon footprint and how it can be reduced – as well as how to reduce waste at Christmas. Current courses – held at venues across Kent – include Ancient Trees, Identifying Fungi and Kent Birds of Prey of the North Kent Marshes, Coast Life Citizen Science Training, Botany Evening Classes, and Discovering British Birds. More courses will be available soon. • Visit

Kent Youth Theatre celebrates
20 years of success It’s a benchmark term for private and family-run stage school and professional agency, Kent Youth Theatre, with December seeing students perform in the 60th showcase where they will mark 20 years of success. A fresh venture for KYT is a new centre in Faversham, which has opened for students aged nine to 18 with classes, held over an 11-week term in the Drama Studio at Queen Elizabeth’s School, designed to raise individual standards in acting. Candidates will cover theatrical styles and acting techniques
to improvisation and monologues, and upon completion will be awarded the new KYT Acting Diploma at either Pass, Merit or Distinction grade. Further diploma courses, including Screen Acting and Physical Theatre, will follow next year. • Visit
