FITZGERALD JEWELLERS CHARITY BALL


Fitzgerald Jewellers, an independent jewellers based in Canterbury’s Cathedral Quarter, organised a charity ball to celebrate Trevor Fitzgerald’s 40 years in the jewellery industry whilst raising money for local charity Porchlight.


Porchlight was chosen by Fitzgerald Jewellers because of the incredible work they do helping people who have nowhere to go and no one to turn to. Working across Kent and the South East, Porchlight help vulnerable and isolated people get support with their mental health, housing, education and employment. The charity ball welcomed 90 guests to the stunning


grounds of Canterbury Cathedral where, throughout the night, Fitzgerald Jewellers presented several opportunities to raise money for the charity – including a live auction and raffle. Entertainment was provided by illusionist Edward Crawford and a Freddie Mercury Tribute Act.


Trevor Fitzgerald, the company director of Fitzgerald Jewellers, said: “The support we have received for both our charity ball and 40km walk and sleep out has been unbelievable, even now people are still sponsoring us. I’m delighted to say that the two events combined mean we have raised £5,000 for Porchlight. On behalf of Fitzgerald Jewellers, I would like to thank everybody who came to Canterbury Cathedral for the ball and donated to the charity.”
