HEART OF THE COUNTRY ALZHEIMER’S EVENT
In July we held our ‘Village in Bloom’ event at Heart of the Country Shopping Village, Swinfen, Lichfield. The event was to raise funds for The Alzheimer’s Society. Floral displays were created by the boutiques, shops and restaurants throughout the village.
Other events included a Forget Me Not Picnic hosted by The Lichfield Tea Company, a floral inspired silver jewellery making course at Allen Brown Jewellery in their workshop, and a Antique Jewellery and Silverware Valuation Day hosted by Hansons Auctioneers and Allen Brown Jewellery.
The finale of the week included Swinfen Supper Club where people could experience three unique tasting plates in our three fantastic restaurants; The Barn at Swinfen, Lichfield Tea Company and Pear Tree Creperie. Each tasting plate was enjoyed in a different location allowing for a very social atmosphere.
The proceeds of the events held throughout the week meant that £1930.70 was raised for The Alzheimer’s Society, the UK’s leading dementia support and research charity to help anyone affected by any form of dementia. They believe passionately that
84 LISTERS CHARITY FETE...
Staff from Listers Jaguar and Land Rover held their second charity fete on the picturesque hills of Spernal Farm in aid of their chosen charity, the Midlands Air Ambulance.
Over 400 staff and their families and friends attended and enjoyed an array of traditional fete attractions, from ‘Splat the Rat’ to ‘Hammer of Strength’ and the good old fashioned ‘Coconut Shy’. The generously staff gifted tombola was a roaring success with over 250 prizes whilst the impressive BBQ and bar set-up was hand built by Director, Anthony Hope. A number of competitions were held, including Listers Crufts, egg throwing and the tug of war which was won by the mighty Droitwich team.
This year they smashed their target and raised twice the amount from the previous fete - a total of £2,421! Its amazing to think the money raised will fund one life saving mission with the MAA. Well done to all the staff, family members, friends and customers from the team at Live 24-Seven!
