LIVE 24-SEVEN

It is a less invasive fat removal and body sculpting procedure using ultrasound technology to breakdown fat cells with less damage to the surrounding tissue than traditional liposuction. It generally requires less downtime and is performed under local anaesthetic. No overnight hospital stay is required, however, compression garments are required to be worn for up to six weeks and swelling and bruising is to be expected.

NON-SURGICAL TREATMENTS So what are the non-surgical treatment alternatives? There are two to consider that are beginning to become well known - 3D-Lipo and CoolSculpting®. These next generation treatments use the revolutionary technology Cryolipolysis, or fat freezing, to remove fat cells.

A Note about Cryolipolysis In 2008 Harvard Medical School scientists Manstein et al demonstrated that under carefully controlled conditions, subcutaneous fat cells are naturally more vulnerable to the effects of cold than surrounding tissue. With more than 50 clinical papers demonstrating efficacy and safety, FDA-cleared CoolSculpting® was developed.

CoolSculpting® CoolSculpting® works to reduce the actual number of fat cells in specific areas of the body and once those cells have disappeared they’re no longer there to get any bigger. It delivers precisely controlled cooling to target the desired fat cells underneath the skin. Treated fat cells are crystallised (frozen), destroyed, and then over time your body naturally processes the fat and eliminates those dead cells thereby reducing the thickness of the fat layer.

With over seven million treatments successfully conducted worldwide and an impressive 97% patient satisfaction record, CoolSculpting® continues to be the world’s number 1 fat freezing and body sculpting treatment in the UK.

Each procedure can be used on its own or combined as a bespoke treatment programme targeting stubborn stomach fat, loose or sagging skin and cellulite.

A FINAL WORD My recommendation is to first carefully consider what exactly is the one thing that really bothers you. Do your research in this area before choosing a couple of surgeons or clinics to visit.

Ensure your consultation is thorough and all the risks and results are discussed with you before committing.
