22/ AUGUST 2019 THE RIDER
SUMMERAMA Continued from Page 21
thank our exhibitors enough for choosing to come to show at Summerama! We appreciate all of you for your support as we adapt to the new location.
Stall Decorating Contest We wanted to make sure
everyone had some “fun” along the way and there we several events planned throughout the show! The Stall Decorating con- test was well supported – congrat- ulations to the JS Quarter Horses group on your win (we bet that Dairy Queen cake as first place was a hit!). Thank you to all the barns who participated.
Gift Basket Raffle Area 3 hosted a fundraising
gift basket raffle that was super well received and we saw a lot of activity as people selected their favourites to submit their tickets into. Congratulations to all of the winners! And special thank you to the sponsors who donated the items – we are so grateful to you! There was also a “jelly bean guess jar” for the youth and a “guess the bottles jar” for the adults – lots of fun. Thanks to the sponsors of these events!
Silent Auction and Strawberry Social
The Ontario Amateurs had
their silent auction at Summerama and as always this was a popular way to support OAQHA! The Ontario Youth hosted a
“strawberry social” that was a huge hit with ice cream and fresh strawberries and lots of toppings! We hope this will become an an- nual event because it was sure a tasty addition! Thanks to sponsor Ego’s Garden Center for your support with the strawberries!
Bareback Horsemanship Always a fun time was the
bareback horsemanship and Cal- cutta. This was a fundraiser for the OQHYA and was well at- tended by spectators, bidders and participants! A great time was had by all and we thank everyone for coming out! Congratulations to Teygin Quinn and The Hot One and Only on winning the bare- back horsemanship. Thanks as well to our judges Jill Rout, Suzanne Pickard & Jamie Gardy.
Amazing Challenge The youth enjoyed our 3rd
annual Amazing Challenge event. We had 27 youth gather and work together to solve clues and find their check points. Thank you to our sponsors and helpers for mak- ing the event great again this year! Looking forward to next year!
T-Shirt Sponsorship Program Thank you as well to the
Area 3 sponsors who participated in our T-shirt sponsorship pro- gram – every exhibitor was given a T highlighting sponsors and Summerama 2019 – we love see- ing these shirts out and about as we show. Photography Thank you to our show
photographer Mary White of Lone Oak Equine Photography – photo proofs are now on her web- site. Thank you as well to the var- ious photographers who have submitted photos to use on the Area 3 website and Facebook posts (Kristy Beck, Mark Grice, Jodi Mallette, Gord Laidlaw).
Huge Thank You! And finally, a huge thank
you to the entire show staff, judges, announcer, ring stewards, trail crew, board of directors and volunteers who make these shows fun and fabulous – we appreciate all of you!
