LIVE 24-SEVEN AUDI SPORT BACK FOR 2019 AT LISTERS AUDI

The RS 3 is available as a hatchback or saloon and is a storming pocket rocket of a thing. Fast enough to keep most supercars honest in a straight line and almost certainly fastertravelling A to B on the UK’s more entertaining roads to embarrass those costing twice as much. The iconic 5 cylinder 2.5 TFSI engine has a unique character, developing almost 400bhp, and while it may have been around for a while, Audi engineers have done their upmost to extract every ounce of performance and efficiency from it. From £46,285

After 12 months of WLTP enforced hibernation, Audi Sport is well and truly back for 2019 at Listers Audi Birmingham with a plethora of performance vehicles right across the range now available to view in the showroom on Stratford Road, Solihull. We have picked 5 of our favourite cars, from Audi icons to brand new models…

The SQ2, now the Audi Sport entry level vehicle from £37,245, sees Audi take the hot hatch in a new direction. But entry level does not mean the Audi Sport DNA is diluted – a big, aggressive grille, quad tailpipes, S-badging and rear spoiler are all here. Utilising the same 300bhp 2.0 TFSI engine, gearbox and quattro all-wheel drive system as you will find in the S3, 62mph is dealt with in just 4.8 seconds. It’s a car of the moment this. Aimed a younger drivers who now want to sit higher, see out better, and want more adaptability and flexibility to carry more than a conventional hatchback can offer them, but do not want to sacrifice performance. I loved driving it, finding it pleasingly feisty, punchy and it felt suspiciously faster than the official figures suggest.

The all new S6 Saloon and Avant feature, for the first time a 3.0 V6 TDI engine combined with an electrically powered compressor to eliminate turbo lag for immediate acceleration. The results are hugely impressive, producing up to a simply enormous 700Nm of torque, a figure that means, like the SQ2, the S6 feels A LOT faster than the 346bhp engine output. The relaxed chassis set up is perfect for a car designed to eat a lot of miles very quickly and in supreme comfort. How this car manages everyday speed and efficiency with a huge range thanks to its diesel engine makes it a very attractive and (pleasing in the modern market) unique prospect.

The RS 4 Avant Audi Sport Edition has everything going for it. Immense pedigree, a fantastic level of specification, an unbelievable soundtrack and guaranteed exclusivity – this car is limited to a maximum run of just 250 units nationally. The Audi Sport Trim includes Black Styling pack, panoramic roof, Sports exhaust system and 20” alloys. Generating 444 bhp from its 2.9 TFSI engine, the RS 4 has been THE benchmark fast estate over the last 10 years, combining serious straight-line performance with unrivalled all-weather, cross-country and general all round practicality thanks to its quattro all-wheel drive system. From £67,585.

The 2019 R8 is Faster. Sharper and more defined. Go from 0 - 62mph in as little as 3.1 seconds thanks to a last of its kind naturally aspirated 5.2 litre V10 and legendary quattro all-wheel drive for unrivalled grip and stability. Available as a Coupe or Spyder and available to view in Birmingham Audi today.

It’s the most unusual juxtaposition, an everyday supercar that’s reliable, that you can take your child to school in, reverse into a parking space, and built by a company that builds approximately 1.8 million other well built cars every year. Yet it has a screaming V10 that produces 620 PS and does not redline until 8,700rpm. Free from turbocharging and electrification to the benefit of noise and drama.
