t takes only a few minutes of attention from a tail- wagging therapy dog to make Bonnie Ebrite smile. • The 85-year-old resident of Elmcroft of Moun- tain Home is one of many touched by Paws of Love
Therapy Dogs, a local volunteer group of certified thera- py dogs and their handlers. • “She has the most natu- ral, genuine smile I’ve seen in a long time,” says Bonnie’s daughter, Janet Taber of Gainesville, Mo. “This is such a wonderful service. I’m just so appreciative. It is so meaningful. You see something on the residents’ faces you don’t see with any other activity.” • Members of Paws of Love visit local senior facilities and schools, as well as the hospital and library on a regular basis.
Lynda Dudek, coordinator for Paws of Love, spends time with Deputy Barney Fife, who is always a hit at area assisted living facilities.
