Meet the newest member of The Farmart team: Amy Ford
Joining us for the summer, Amy will be assisting in co-ordinating adverts for new customers. Many of our readers will know her already, but here she introduces herself:
“I've just finished studying my degree in Mechanical Engineering at Newcastle University and now I'm back home where I intend to enjoy summer in the UK before departing on my travels later in the year. I'm planning to go out to Australia on a Working Holiday visa to enjoy what the other side of the world has to offer.
For the next few months, I'm making the most of the busy young farmers social calendar as well as attending lots of agricultural shows. Most weekends I venture across the country to help my mother show shires under the Hainton Eardswick prefix and if we're not competing, I often do show commentary or the occasional bit of stewarding. I love to compete in ridden classes and have a 16.2 warmblood - although not by my father's choice!
My family are third generation dairy farmers based near Nantwich and I take a keen interest in the business side of the farm where I love to play the numbers game. I am constantly looking for ways to increase efficiency, and love to talk about all things technology, whether machinery related or otherwise. Increasing yield and keeping costs down are, of course, objectives for any farmer, but in these testing times I love to do the maths behind the investment and help to make any important decisions. My long-term career plans are very flexible but at the moment, with being young and ambitious, I'm really enjoying working in sales and helping people to get the results they want.”
If you'd like to discuss any new advert in The Farmart magazine, then please don't hesitate to call me on 01270 898 518.
