News Desk BIFA Board appointments
Following the BIFA AGM in May, John Stubbings has succeeded Mark Bromley as the elected National Chair of BIFA for a two-year period. Bromley becomes Immediate Past Chair for a two-year term. In addition, Rachel Morley, general manager for
operations at BIFA member company Spatial Global, has been elected Vice Chair by the BIFA Board. Morley was appointed a director of BIFA in 2017 and chairs the trade association’s Midlands region. Sir Peter Bottomley, MP, remains as BIFA president. Stubbings, who has been associated with BIFA for
many years, is currently group director and company secretary at the Woodland Group. He is also Chair of BIFA’s Legal and Insurance Policy Group. Joining the Board as a director is Charles Hogg,
commercial director of Unsworth Global Logistics. Hogg is currently Chair of BIFA’s Maritime, Road and Rail Policy Group. He replaces Andrew Melton of Ligentia, who has stepped down after 14 years’ service on the Board. Melton will continue to assist BIFA in a Council role as Vice President. Sarah Milton takes on BIFA administrator role
BIFA is pleased announced the appointment of Sarah Milton as Member Services Administrator, following the retirement of Jane Robinson. Under a new structure of BIFA’s

The recently launched online training course that focuses on Customs declarations has proved a massive hit. Robert Keen, BIFA director
general, said: “Issues surrounding Customs declarations are in the spotlight at present and we perceived the need for a focused course that can improve the understanding of many of our Members.

seem to agree as we have had over 550 individuals registering an interest in the new eLearning course that we introduced to our training portfolio in March 2019.” The course is another tool that
has been developed to provide support and information for anyone wanting to gain a better understanding of Customs regimes and how to complete a
Member Services, Sarah’s main responsibility will be Membership administration. Sarah spent many years in
Customs declaration. The wholly online digital course
has 11 modules in total. These include: The Export process, The Import process and entry completion rules, Customs Procedure Codes (CPCs) and Customs Simplified Procedures. Whilst it should not take more
than around five hours to complete, it can take as long as a delegate wants.
