SUSANNA RICHARDSON E VERY THING ORGANI S ED

LIVE 24-SEVEN

SUSANNA RICHARDSON HAS EVERYTHING ORGANISED. . .

Susanna is a wedding and event planner who has been responsible for some of the most talked about parties both here and abroad. A former city girl, she's swapped her heels for the Cotswolds and we're delighted that she will be sharing her musings with us each month.

Well, it’s happened, I am now an officially published author; the book arrived and is everything I expected it to be and thus far the feedback has been good – phew!

Sadly, I didn’t have masses of time to take it in, as crazy season is in full force and I had a disaster of a week, so it just sort of went by rather limply. I did manage to sit down with a coffee and read a few chapters though. I mean it’s not like I haven’t read it 900 times, but there’s just something glorious about seeing it in print. I’m still an old-fashioned person who loves a proper book; it’s not the same for me reading on an electronic device. There’s something glorious about proper paper and the smell of fresh print. I’ve started recording the audio however, which is actually good fun, I’ve just got to keep myself in check and try hard not to throw in the odd sweary ad-lib.

I shall be rectifying my non-celebratory uselessness with a celebration in October when I plan to host a (teeny) launch party – not something I’ve really wanted to do! You’ll recall I am quite bad at my own parties, but apparently these things should be celebrated, so my arm has been twisted and I’ve given in! Some stiff gins should sort me out! I’ll mingle like the best of them and get my best pose on for photos (I’m sure my buttocks just clenched at the thought). Eeek! I seem to have got my ability to pose from Chandler in Friends! There’s just this odd twitch which takes over as soon as the camera points at me. With that and my nervous blinking, it’s just not an attractive mix.

I was also rather excited to take a trip back to Birmingham. No matter how much of a country dweller I am these days, occasionally this girl must return to the city and if there’s one thing guaranteed to get me back faster than a sale at Prada, it’s an audience with my second husband, aka Hugh Jackman. Wow, that guy can entertain. I was simply thrilled and danced the night away, so much so I awoke with rather sore leg muscles, which probably says a lot more about my dance

moves than anything else. I wasn’t exactly blessed in that department and I’m sure that not knowing my left from my right doesn’t exactly help. Oh well, you can still enjoy yourself whilst looking like a fool. Luckily I don’t think anyone saw because they were all too busy doing the same.

I had to include a picture of these fabulous biscuits made for me to celebrate my book launch, they really are too pretty to eat...but I did anyway!
