Summary


Eligibility for theWelsh Government’s SPG requires a partner in the business to have attended a Sustainable Farming event organised by Farming Connect. The individual who attended must be registered as a business partner with Farming Connect and Rural PaymentsWales.


A grant to help farmers inWales to improve the economic and environmental performance of their holdings. The FBG can provide a grant of between £3 ,0 0 0 and £1 2 ,0 0 0 . Farmers acrossWales will be able to invest in around 7 0 items linked to animal health; genetics and performance; crop management; energy efficiency; resource efficiency and ICT.


The GlastirWoodland Creation Scheme aims to increase the area of new woodlands inWales by offering financial assistance for new tree planting.


The GlastirWoodland Restoration Scheme enables woodlands infected by Phytophthora ramorum and stands of larch, to be replanted to help slow down the spread of the disease.When a woodland is clear‐felled, the scheme provides an opportunity to diversify tree species to increase resilience to climate change and damage from pests and diseases.


Glastir Small Grants is a programme of capital works available to farming businesses acrossWales to carry out projects that will help to improve and maintain the traditional landscape features inWales, and provide habitat linkage for pollinating insects. The Landscapes and Pollinator window selects activities that have been chosen for their ability to contribute to enhancing landscape features and providing habitats for pollinator insect species.

Badger Vaccination Grant


What to do if you find a dead badger?


Farmers can transfer their BPS Entitlements by sale or lease with or without land or via inheritance. Transfer of Entitlements online forms are available for you to complete using your RPWOnline account. You must notify theWelsh Government before midnight on April 3 0 2 0 1 9 of any transfers in order for you to make a claim on entitlements you are receiving, in a particular scheme year.


The deadline to complete and claim forWater 2 0 1 8 CapitalWorks is June 3 0 2 0 1 9 . All CapitalWorks approved under the 6 th EOI windows of GWR and GWC


Other Information


From April 1 2 0 1 9 , the cost of taking TSE samples from fallen stock cattle transfers to the farming industry and becomes the responsibility of the owner or keeper of the animal. For carcases collected on and after April 1 , the disposal site will send owners/keepers a single invoice covering the cost of collection, disposal and sampling. Government will continue to pay for the cost of transporting and testing the sample. For further details you should contact: 0 3 0 0 3 0 3 8 2 6 8 .


The Badger Vaccination Grant is now open for new and existing applicants, to support privately delivered badger vaccination projects inWales. Those wishing to vaccinate badgers can apply to the Badger Vaccination Grant for financial support. Successful applicants will receive up to 5 0 per cent of the eligible costs of badger vaccination.


Any individual who comes across a dead badger carcass should call 0 8 0 8 1 6 9 5 1 1 0 for further information and instruction in dealing with these carcases.


Half an Hour Entertainment Competition. The


competition was held at the end of February at the Ucheldre Centre, Holyhead and the three teams competing provided endless entertainment.


Bodedern YFC won the competition and went on to compete in theWales competition which


was held in Newtown. Non Evans, Llangefni YFC was named Best Actress and Carwyn Jones, Rhosybol YFC was named best Actor. Congratulations to everyone!


LoisWilliams, Bodedern YFC won the Senior


Member of the Year award, and Cerys Tudor, Llangefni YFC, won the JuniorMember of the Year Award. Best wishes to you all!

Leminghton Spa on theMay 1 2 2 0 1 9 . Dave Dart and RobiWoodwere nominated for best actors and they also won the trophy for the best technical performance as well as the overall trophy.
