WHAT’S ON SUMMER OF SPORT Whether you want to participate or spectate, there is lots of great sport available on our doorstep.


Junior Parkrun Local events for juniors aged 4 to 14 years old. Bushy Park is a 2km run at 9am on the first Sunday of every month. Surbiton and Tooting Common are weekly 2km runs at 9am every Sunday and Wimbledon Park is at 9.30am every Sunday. Free, but you do have to register before attending. Dragon Boat Festival Canbury Gardens, Kingston 21 July, 9:30am-4pm Now in its 15th year, the Kingston Rotary Dragon Boat Festival is an amazing spectacle. Market stalls,

Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends The Lawn Tennis Association have teamed up with Nature Valley to offer free sessions to try out tennis – whatever your level. There are lots of local clubs participating and many include children’s as well as adults sessions. Taste of Sport South Park Gardens 23 June, 10am-1pm Races, exercise taster workshops, demos, live music and fab food. This is an all-age event with participation a must! Funds are being raised for various charities. http://southpark gardens.org

Ride London 4 August Spectators will be out in force as the cyclists whizz through the streets of London and Surrey in this epic cycling challenge. There are some great opportunities to view the riders in our local area – with cyclists powering through. The folks at Raynes Park Community Church also promise a great line up


Pretty Muddy Kids Morden Park 31 August, 10am for kids, 10:45am for adults A 5k race with obstacles and mud – lots of mud! All children taking part must be 1.2m tall and be accompanied by an adult. The event is part of Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life series and will help fund cancer research. For more information visit raceforlife.org
