gutted, so it was a blank slate for her whimsical decorating style. A cream-colored Moroccan boho rug
with a gray diamond pattern kick-start- ed her design, which led to a star pen- dant light, faux fur and cowhide rugs, a gray-and-white striped teepee covered in star-shaped string lights, and Moroc- can poufs. Karla’s father-in-law, Norm Bradley,
better known as “Grampy Norm,” taught her how to use a Skill saw and chop saw, so she cut the wood herself for the bunk bed and two long benches. With his electrical skills, he helped create a re- cessed LED light box on the ceiling. The middle of the camper features a
long wooden table won at a Flippin School District auction, flanked by the two benches. The bench backs are cov- ered in fabric that read, “one fish two
fish red fish blue fish” while the seats are covered in an ivory-and-charcoal tick- ing stripe fabric. Continuing the Dr. Seuss theme is a wooden sign with the phrase, “Oh, the places you’ll go!” which flips up, hiding a storage compartment. Fun stick-on triangles decorate the ceil- ing. When open, the camper’s door functions as a chalkboard. To personalize the space, Karla used
miniature clothespins to clip family photos to strings hanging over the win- dows. Square black-and-white portraits of each child, printed on canvas, also make a personalized statement. When the camper was revealed to the
kids in late winter, they couldn’t believe the surprise. “We were mostly shocked,” says Jen-
