ASCA NEWS

Salary Survey Results Available in July

ASCA will release the results from its 2019 Salary & Benefits Survey in July. The survey collects national, regional and state data on more than 20 ASC positions and is a valuable resource that helps ASCs attract and retain the best employees. The survey allows ASCs to com- pare their compensation packages with similar facilities, negotiate a raise or establish salary and bene- fits for a new position. It also allows ASCs to view personalized reports comparing their information with oth- ers in the same geographic region, with a similar number of employees, in the same specialty and more. This year’s survey debuts new features like an N/A answer option for questions that don’t apply to your facility and new questions about the infection pre- ventionist position. All ASCs were invited to take the

survey free of charge. ASCA members and nonmembers who completed at least 40 percent of the survey will receive personalized results for free. Results also are available for purchase for ASCs that did not participate. For more information, visit ascassociation. org/salarysurvey.

Purchase Upcoming ASCA Webinars On Tuesday, June 4, at 1:00 pm ET, ASCA will offer a webinar titled “Does Your Infection Prevention Plan Include the Right Strategies for Your Patients?” Marion Sylvia, RN, infec- tion control preventionist at Bluff- ton Okatie Surgery Center in Okatie, South Carolina, will discuss how to create a proactive infection prevention (IP) plan based on a comprehensive infection control (IC) risk assessment. Registrants will return home with the know-how needed to conduct an IC risk analysis that can help improve the effectiveness of an IP plan by better prioritizing prevention strategies.

On Tuesday, July 9, at 1:00 pm ET, Matt Kilton, associate principal, and Jeff Hignite, senior manager, at ECG Man- agement Consultants will present “How to Negotiate Managed Care Contracts Successfully.” They will provide prac- tical advice on assessing existing man- aged care agreements, determining how and when to engage payers and prepar- ing and submitting effective proposals. Attendees will receive one nurs-

Make Plans to Celebrate National ASC Month In August, ASCs around the country will celebrate National ASC Month. Congress is in recess during August, so it is the perfect time host a facility tour for your representatives and open houses for the media and members of your community. Hosting policymakers in your

facility creates personal connections that can directly affect ASC-related legislation and regulations.

These

events raise the profile of ASCs, help educate the public about the high- quality care ASCs offer and can secure support for ASCs during key policy-making deliberations. For more information, visit ascassociation.org/ nationalascmonth.
