‘Contact with

people from a wide range of industry

sectors helps young people have positive attitudes’

Rolls-Royce and Bristol Airport. These events challenge students to design and build a unique remote control aircraft in a day. The latest developments use input from Rolls- Royce volunteers who are introducing students to the record breaking ACCEL project to explore the use of electrical power in aircraft. The Bristol Initiative Charitable

Trust, which is the charitable arm of the Bristol Chamber of Commerce and Initiative, through supporting My Future My Choice has a long track record for projects designed and delivered in partnership with businesses and universities. Ten years ago the GE Foundation commissioned games

for volunteers to use with different age ranges to explore future work, happiness and success. More recently the charity is working with Liebherr and University of Bath to engage young people in the lifting industry, supporting the National Composite Centre to develop their education outreach activity and working with the innovative Bristol start-up, Reach Robotics, to develop an education activity with their Mekamon Robot. All projects are a response to what

businesses are looking for in future employees and what young people and parents say education is missing.
