“Even writing this I can hear the noise of a Mustang V8 in my head…burning up the fuel almost quick enough to see… potent, poised, ready to pounce.”

didn’t have to squeezemystick bag in on a diagonal - it fitted either laterally, or longitudinally, so it really is a spacious and useable boot. The roof, when down, doesn’t intrude into it either so there’s no compromise on space over style or vice-versa. So, it has a fantastic engine, seats

thatwill accommodate four adults, a bootmost sports carswould be jealous of and a soundtrack thatwill keep you smiling even after yet another trip to a filling station. On that note - I shouldmention the fuel economy. It’s terrible. Appallingly so.We took

it for a family day out; a return trip of approximately 60miles on good a-

roads, cruising at between 50and 60mph, so as economical as it gets. That trip cost the best part of £15 in petrol. I appreciate that you don’t buy aMustang for the economy, and if you’re buying a £50k drop-top sports car, you knowyou’re going to be customer of themonth at your local filling station, but this thing just drinks fuel. But itwould, it’s a V8. A V8 that fits

four adults, all your shopping and is remarkably easy to drive (if you keep a light right foot)while also being a snarling beastwhen youwant it to be. So,what does this compare to? There are a fewofferings in Europe thatwould give an equivalent power in a convertible - for example a BMW

M4 convertible - granted that has a hard roof and slightly less power, but it’s close. But you’d sacrifice boot space, the genuinely impressive automatic gearbox and arguably the imposing and stunning looks… but you’d pay at least £12kmore for the basic spec. Add some extras and that is beginning to look like a very poor choice. So, all that said… themillion dollar

(of fifty thousand pound) question… would I buy one? As theAmericanswould say:Hell

yeah!.
