TALHFA Celebrates 30 Years of Service!

The celebration of life’s milestones like Birth- days and Anniversaries is an opportunity to

share memories, acknowledge growth and cre- ate goals for the future.

As we look back at the past 30 years, TALHFA has had the opportunity to work with some amaz- ing people, communities, and companies. We’ve had the pleasure to welcome teams and individ- uals who create and maintain safe, comfortable, and affordable homes for Texans.

TALHFA MEMBERS HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE in their communities and in the quality of life for thousands of Texans. This has been no small task, and affordable housing industry challenges

will continue.

The two things that have remained constant are the need for affordable housing in our state and the strength and energy of TALHFA’s membership and board. Here are some reflections from those “early days”...

“When I left the private sector and joined Lubbock HFC, issuing mortgage revenue bonds was the only way I knew we could help working families. I immediately became involved in TALHFA where (through its educational and networking opportunities) I learned how other HFCs were serving their communities. As a result, LHFC has developed and provided programs and services that have benefitted thousands of families and strengthened our community.” Shari Flynn, Lubbock HFC, member since 1995

“TALHFA, happy anniversary! This organization has been such a huge and positive influence on my professional career, and I am very grateful to all its members and leadership. Here’s to the next 30 years!” Pam Black, Bank of Texas, member since 1989.
