Albion RoadAmember of public raised concern over the closure. Signage and notification to residents had only been done a fewdays beforework commenced. Speed indicator device Three locations had been agreed:Howland Road; Thorn Road; andGoudhurst Road. The clerk had wri�en to neighbouring properties and one resident had replied that the flashing light fromthe Thorn Road sitewould be seen fromthe frontwindows of his property. It was agreed to take this site off the list. Parking The traffic regulation orders had been advertised, and the clerk had received a le�er opposing the Pa�enden Lane proposals. Cllr Turner proposed that the orderswent ahead and the issue be constantly reviewed. CountyCllr grant Therewas a discussion as towhere the grant could be spent, including benches and a picnic area at Southons Field; refurbishment of the fingerposts; newchairs and/or projection screen atMarden MemorialHall. These suggestionswould be put toCllr EricHotson. Police report There had been two crimes: an arson in Pa�enden Lane and a burglary in Summerhill Road. There had been five reports of anti-social behaviour. Youth club Itwas agreed to bring the club under the parish council umbrella. The
OUTBUILDINGS had been broken into in Chart Road, Chart Suon. Three garden fence panelswere stolen
in Heath Road, Coxheath. Awindowwas smashed at a house in
Forge Lane, Headcorn. A kitchenwindowwas found smashed
at a property in Duke of YorkWay, Coxheath. Hub capswere stolen froma vehicle in
Burston Road, Coxheath. A doorwas broken at the back of a
property being renovated in St Helen’s Lane, East Farleigh. Gardening toolswere stolen froma
garden inWestway, Coxheath. A buildingwas broken into in Church
clerkwas still pursuing the grant offered by borough councillors. 125 years The parish councilwas celebrating its 125th anniversary, along with other parish councils. Itwas proposed that previous parish councillors and staff be invited to the annual parishmeeting for a group photograph. Footpath The residentwho lived next to footpath KM281was happy tomaintain it but askedwhether itwould be possible to have road plaining/bark laid to resolve the problemofmud. The clerkwas progressing this. Signage The owner ofGreat Cheveney Farmhad contacted KentHighways to investigate the possibility of installing directional signs for lorries travelling to this cold store. The clerk had been notified that KentHighwayswould not permit this.

NeighbourhoodWatchAsingle axle trailer had been stolen fromland at the back of a property inHampstead Lane. Two outhouses had been broken into at a home inHampstead Lane. Parishmagazine Themagazine had been printed by Silver Pines andmemberswere impressed. Cllr VanHensbergen had sought three quotes for the printing, and therewas a difference of about £50 between them. Itwas proposed to accept the quote fromHadlumfor the nextmagazine. KGVfield The clerk hadmetwithGolding Homes. The officer had taken photos of the trees and the clerkwaswaiting to hear fromthem. The clerkwas to arrange a meetingwith the groundsmaintenance contractor to look at the condition of the field. Itwas also noted that the bin needed emptying and the seat on the cable ride had been chewed by a dog again. The clerk would speak to the dogwarden. Streetlights The clerk reported that all streetlights at Bishops Close and Bryant Close had been upgraded to LEDlights, as well as another on theMaidstone Road. Lier-pickAli�er-pick had taken place alongHampstead Lane but the remaining roads inNe�lestead had yet to be completed. The clerkwould chase this. Hen andDuckhust FarmCouncillors discussed ideas submi�ed byDavid WilsonHomes for provision of a community garden or allotments on the allocated space atHen andDuckhurst Farm. Itwas agreed to advice that the parish council favoured eight half-sized allotments available to all parish residents. Village sign Itwas agreed to informKent Highways and the developer that the parish council had concerns about the impact on visibility if the signwasmoved closer to the Clapper Lane/Marden Road junction. Itwas felt itwould be best left in its current location but if thiswas not possible the parish councilwould consider other proposals.Aproposal for speed humps onMarden Road had been postponed andwould be subject to review following a traffic survey. Councillors stressed their opposition to speed humps. Fallen branchAlarge branch had fallen froma tree inNicholsonWalk. The caretaker hadmade it safe and it had been reported toMBC. Play scheme The school had been booked between July 29 andAugust 16. Public forumAmember of public had commented on the importance of a good water supply to theHen andDuckhurst Farmallotments and objected to the idea of speed
humps.Aresident said the new roundabout onMarden Roadwas not clearly visible to approaching traffic.A resident called for a 20mph speed limit in the centre of the village.
