MILK PINT CHALLENGE COMPLETED!

WELCOME to your April issue!

Since taking over the running of Cheshire Farmart magazine I have been overwhelmed by messages of support from readers and advertisers. It's lovely to feel part of a community and this magazine has certainly played a part in people's lives for many decades. Even if it's just for the joke at the top of the page to be read out by Dads at brew time!

This issue incorporates a few new items which I hope you'll find of interest. On page 33 you'll find our new “Farmart Experts” page. Take a look at the advice to see if it could be of help in your farm business.

Over the next few months my team will be out and about at livestock markets around Cheshire. The market café is often a welcoming refuge from the busy sale ring and a chance to catch up with news and events from farmer friends. So over the next few months we'll be featuring a recipe from a market café. We start off with Beeston, so why not have a go at the steak pie and upload a photo to our Facebook page to show us!

Social media is playing an increasing part of any company marketing plan these days and we embrace that development. It's certainly a force for good for the Mission4Milk campaign. Kick started in Congleton, this initiative to promote the benefits of milk to the nation, has gained a great following. The concept of drinking a pint of milk whilst being videoed and then nominating a friend to do the same is certainly headline grabbing. Upload your video and tag #milkpintchallenge .

I've been lucky enough to be invited to several networking events and open days over the last month and I really do appreciate meeting our readers. If you've got a social event, activity or just news that you think other readers would be interested in hearing about, then please don't hesitate to send us the details for inclusion in our next community notice board page.

Finally, we love seeing your Brew Room photos! Keep sending those in to: email@cheshirefarmart.com
