You can help mend the cycle at the Habitat

You may remember Nicky Webb from our last Unite.

To Nicky, the Habitat is more than just a workshop space. It means new beginnings, new possibilities. A space where Uniting Communities clients can come together to work on projects, learn new skills and make new friends.

The Habitat was launched last October by Nicky, founder of the innovative program, Help Mend the Cycle, along with Chief Executive, Simon Schrapel, Chair of the Board, Dr Sue King and Executive Manager Services, Robyn Sutherland.

Nicky’s program to restore and donate old bikes is changing lives. Current and former clients volunteer to work on the bikes, giving structure to their week, greater social interaction and an opportunity to learn new skills.

The Habitat is the new home of Help Mend the Cycle and now we’re inviting other clients to use the space to establish their own initiatives – such as a community project, class, workshop or start-up.

We need your help to keep the doors of the Habitat wide open, so community projects like Help Mend the Cycle can continue changing lives. Every dollar raised will be used to provide a safe, welcoming and well- equipped space for Uniting Communities clients to get back on track.

You can make your donation by visiting: https:// donate.unitingcommunities.org/the-habitat
