Jo and Phillip relaxing at home
helping answer Phillip’s call
Every year at Christmas time, we write to our generous community to ask for help in supporting South Australians in need. Our last Appeal was particularly heartbreaking; the story of Phillip, a vulnerable teenager who thankfully called Lifeline when he was considering taking his own life. His loving mum, Jo, revealed that if Lifeline had not answered Phillip’s call at 2 am that morning, she may have lost him.
Eastern Services bringing joy to families at Christmas
Your generosity helps bring joy
On Christmas Hamper Day, our dedicated volunteers prepared 140 special hampers brimming with delicious Christmas food items, shopping vouchers and wrapped 100 toys for South Australian children in need.
For families facing a difficult Christmas, these hampers and toys bring immense relief and excited smiles. Your support made this possible. Thank you.
Every day we hear stories like Phillip’s; young people who reach out to us for help in times of crisis. We need to be able to answer every call. Your incredible support for our Appeal has enabled us to commence specialist training for a new intake of Crisis Supporters to support the ever-increasing calls to the service.
“We were heartened to see such great support for the work of Lifeline Adelaide over Christmas. Your encouraging messages to Phillip and his mother, Jo, were much appreciated. Thank you for once again getting behind Lifeline Adelaide to support people experiencing crisis,” said Jo Cooley, Service Manager, Crisis Intervention.
At Christmas and throughout the year, your support saves lives. Thank you.
