HERE’S WHAT SOME EXHIBITORS HAD TO SAY…

“We sold a few small pieces and generated a lot of attention for our local dealer.” | Messer Repair & Fab

“Sold several pieces of equipment at the show and have a good number of leads to follow up on.” | Agra Jack

“This show (2018) has probably been the best show we have ever exhibited at.” | Vulcan Equipment

“We had a higher amount of quotes to do from the show compared to previous years.” | Lloyd & Meredith

“The flow was great the first two days. We’ve gotten several site visits already set up from people who stopped by the booth.” | 3E Electrical Engineering

“Just an overall great show and worth every dime spent. Well organized!” | WD40 Company

“I feel that I will sell several units because of this show. I never try to finalize sales at a show because of the number of options on our pricelist.” | Force Unlimited

“My dealer working the booth got a couple sales from the show.” | Rancher Livestock Equipment

“This truly is a great show full of information for agriculture. At no cost to the attendees it is the perfect time of year to come and edu- cate, kick tires, or just enjoy the company of others in our industry. This really is one fantastic farm show!” | Koch Agronomic Services

After the show, I spoke with a few Iowa dealers who indicated they were pricing more items in December than 2017. They credit this to farmers adjusting to today’s commodity prices. They also mentioned that some farmers were finding that their tax accountant was recommending them to make some purchases.

The farm show definitely created optimism among exhibitors and dealers so stay positive! The year 2019 may be better than you think.

Q: A:

Are air conditioning parts exempt from sales tax?

For periods beginning on/after July 1, 2008, if air conditioning components were sold as part of the original vehicle, the replacement parts are exempt.

Nonexclusive examples of replacement parts which would be exempt include: air-conditioning parts, computer equipment parts, fire equipment parts, glass parts, mirrors, headlights, communication systems and global positioning equipment parts.
