Philips LED Highlights ISE

Two new LED display series and Chromecast built-in for Pro TV prove show highlights for Philips Professional displays at ISE2019

How often can brands claim to be unveiling true ‘game- changers’ at the ISE show? Or how about two? Leading global professional

display brand Philips was in that unique position with an unveiling of two new series of LED displays – available in a wide range of sizes and as either complete kits or as bespoke/custom solutions – plus the Pro TV market’s very first models to feature Google certification and the hugely successful Chromecast facility built-in.

The time is right for LED

Philips has a wide selection of current and future technologies

continually

under development within the business, which naturally includes LED displays. Philips PDS had already successfully debuted a 110” prototype screen at ISE 2018 and had begun to deploy a very limited range of LED products within development projects in Italy, the Netherlands and the UK in order to help evaluate the market dynamics and the understanding of the key factors needed to be successful in the LED market. Based on the knowledge

gained over the past few years, Philips chose ISE2019 as the perfect time to launch two new LED series designed to maximise flexibility and choice and bring an LED display offering that will allow the Philips brand to stand out in the market place. As with all new introductions,

the new LED series follows Philips PDS’ customer centric philosophy by offering exceptional performance and innovative design features that guarantee both easy installation and operation.

Customers can choose

from a range of pitch sizes – from 1.2mm up to 4.8mm – and can select to purchase complete kits including everything required to install and operate an LED display or alternatively they can specify individual panels and components to build their own custom configurations. The 27BDL91XXL LED kit

series features a new 27” 16x9 ‘tile’, available in three pitch sizes of 1.2mm, 1.5mm or 1.9mm. FHD versions are available in 110”, 127” and 165” sizes, while UHD displays are available in 220”, 275” and 330”. All Philips PDS LED kits are pre-configured to a customers’ exact requirements and include: tiles, cables, cable management,

cabinets,

industry standard controllers and edge finishing kit. The 27” tiles also feature

a high-quality, die-cast aluminium housing that is both light and strong and designed to offer excellent heat dissipation. To guarantee the highest accuracy, the die-cast housing is further precision milled to ensure a very close fitting between tiles with absolutely no visible lines. An innovative modular construction allows panels to clamp to each other, without all being directly attached to the cabinet, delivering advanced design creativity. The second new LED series

is the 44BDL81XXL range, which features a new 44” 50cm x 100cm tile, available to order in three pitch sizes – 2.8mm, 3.9mm and 4.8mm – all with a bezel free design and no visible lines between panels. Both the 27” and 44”

LED tiles feature ‘A’ grade, gold wired LEDs to offer outstanding performance

“I truly believe the Philips Professional Display Solutions stand was an essential visit at ISE, I think our new LED series and our unique Chromecast built-in functionality for Pro TV

were two of the outstanding highlights of the show.” Chris Colpaert, Philips PDS

including: extremely high colour consistency, excellent contrast and very high brightness, all delivered with exceptional uniformity. Easy installation and ongoing operation have also been prioritised by Philips PDS’ solutions. Both LED series are 100% front serviceable, allowing the change of tiles, cables and power supplies from the front without having to remove the

modules from the wall. Crucially, Philips PDS

offers the same high levels of support to customers for either LED series, assisting through all stages of the product’s creation, as well as installation, and will help with configuration and cabling of all displays, whether customers select the kit option or prefer a custom build. As with all Philips professional displays, the LED series have a three-year warranty, with all after sales support managed locally by a European-based service operation.

MediaSuite – Game changing tech certified by Google

Philips ground breaking and innovative approach extends to the new Pro TV MediaSuite range also unveiled at ISE 2019. The company has long been a champion for using the power of the Android OS throughout its professional display range but the new MediaSuite series uniquely moves one step ahead by offering Google certification.

The partnership with Google

brings a number advantages including direct access to the thousands of Apps in the Google Play store, the option of Android OS updates to ensure the TV’s remain secure and with the latest specification plus, for the first time, Chromecast built-in.

Chromecast built-in – means no more dongles!

Built-in Chromecast

functionality offers customers, installers and guests a straightforward connection between MediaSuite TVs and any compatible device, with no login or app download required.

Chromecast allows full

access to the content on guest’s own device, instantly cast onto their hotel room TV in up to 4K resolution, plus access to Google Play Store - delivering thousands of compatible Apps, including major services such as YouTube, Deezer and Spotify, local news, weather and traffic information. Philips PDS’ new MediaSuite range includes seven models in two series, one for FHD versions and – for the first time – a series with UHD performance. Both series feature direct LED back lights and high-quality panels to offer superior contrast, black level, brightness and colour saturation to ensure an outstanding picture performance.

Philips PDS’ new MediaSuite products also feature a new user interface which combines desired content, channels and Apps into one intuitive image, logo tile or card-based home screen that can be operated by a simple and minimalist remote control. Philips

MediaSuite

customers can also easily customise the home screen either choosing, at the most basic level, to change colours, logos and the backdrop directly on each TV, or at the most sophisticated level, building their own bespoke home screen.

Invaluable management information

MediaSuite products can help hospitality companies to offer a more targeted service to their guests. An on-screen customer satisfaction survey can offer instant feedback on a guest’s current service satisfaction – in time for a response to be made rather than after negative comments have appeared on Booking.com or TripAdvisor. Each MediaSuite can also provide a statistics report to show which are the most popular Apps and services, how many times they are used and how long they are used for.
