colleagues in Nashville, Tennessee, for the largest ASC meeting of the year, the ASCA 2019 Conference & Expo, May 15–18. This year, ASCA returns to the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Conven- tion Center for the first time since 2014 and brings with it what might be the most impressive schedule for an ASCA conference yet. “The ASCA conference is a great platform to learn new ideas, network with others in the industry and take time for your own professional development,” says Christy Mosqueda, RN, CASC, director of clinical services for Surgical Care Affiliates in Deerfield, Illinois.

for ASC professionals at every level and position. Back again are the popu- lar advanced sessions—16 in all. These sessions deliver content designed for ASC professionals who feel they have a strong grasp of the basics and want to take their skills to the next level. Top- ics they will cover include case costing and physician management, insurance policy selection, physician practice transactions, renovation and expan- sion, administrator succession plan- ning and key performance indicators.

The other regular sessions will

cover a wide range of the most impor- tant and current business, financial, clinical and regulatory information critical to ensuring your ASC’s short- and long-term success.

They will also receive and learn about real facility challenges and wins while using the quality improvement process. In addition, we will have an interactive portion where attendees can practice writing a quality improvement study.” Mosqueda’s session is one of several with interactive elements (look for the orange “limited seating” label on the online schedule, ascassociation.org/ annualconference/schedule).
