particularly a week after menstruation for women to help detect early signs of breast cancer risks. Doctors also advice regular clinician’s examination and mammography, especially to those who are at high risk. Factors linked with an increased risk of breast cancer include: 1) being female; 2) increasing age; 3)personal history of breast conditions like having been diagnosed to have lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS) or atypical hyperplasia of the breast; 4)personal history of breast cancer – an increased risk of it developing in the other breast may occur; 5)
family history; 6) inherited genes that increase cancer risk; 7) radiation exposure; 8) obesity; 9) start of the menstrual period before age 12; 10) start of menopausal period at a later age; 11) having your first child beyond 30 years old; 12) never been pregnant; 13) postmenopausal hormone therapy; and 14) drinking too much alcohol.
