HALL PLACE EC (BERKSHIRE) - Autumn Novice Show Monday 26th October 2018

Autumn Novice Show in half term – 21 showing classes and fun dog show in Tilehurst, Reading. The event was kindly sponsored by the British Equestrian Trade Association.
It was a cloudy day for the Hall Place
Best Turned Out was Gatsby, ridden by 2 year old Annabelle Laskey from Farnborough.
Isla Burrows, age 6, was the winner of Best Child Handler with April. Together they also took second place as Best Grey and took part in the busy Fancy Dress class as Cruella De Vil and 101 Dalmations and brother Eoin with his Halloween Tractor, alongside Pegasus, Magical Witches and Hogwarts!
Anastasia Bishop, from Wootton Bassett, with Waywood Buglet took first place in Best Odd Coloured Pony. This miniature Shetland was the winning ‘pony judge would most like to take home’. It was a returning trip down memory lane for Annie who learnt to ride at Hall Place.
Chestnut mare Tilly took the red ribbons for Family Pony and Pony Club/Riding Club horse. This horse is truly a family pony and super all rounder as she is ridden by owners Caitlin Stewart, sister Holly, and mum Alison and

Mountain and Moorland winner was the black Shetland pony, Biggles, with his jockey, Freddie Shutler. This winning combination went forward to become Best In Show Champion. 5 year old Freddie, was delighted to be made champion with his new pony Biggles. Mum Sally said ‘They are already best of friends and enjoy cantering through the woods! Freddie’s goal with Biggles would be to do the Shetland Grand National, break him to drive and to try playing polo. He is a member of the Vine Pony Club with his older pony Maggie and will be taking Biggles soon’. Sally’s friend Beth Crystal showed Twix
to take first place in Best Black and Most Handsome. Beth and Sally drive Dartmoor pair Humbug and Twix and as Beth loves Twix she was offered to show him for the day.
Kate Turner, Show Manager, was pleased with the number of entries and the standard of horses at the show. Hall Place now look forward to a busy year of shows in 2019, including further showing at the Hall Place Spring Novice Show and the Annual Show on 26th August Bank Holiday. 2019 Fixtures, schedules and entry forms
