WIN! A two-course lunch for two at Havet in Tonbridge

Enjoy a true taste of authentic Turkish cuisine close to home at Havet – and one lucky INDEX reader has the chance to go with a friend for free!

from meze to mangal and much more, we went along to try new additions to the already extensive menu of delicious dishes. Charming and well-trained staff were happy to assist with our menu choices – tip: take time to get your head around the menu if you’re a Havet fi rst-timer as ‘combos’ and meze selections to share are perfect for trying different dishes or if you are in a large group. We shared a

S selection of hot and

ince opening in Tonbridge back in March 2016, Turkish eaterie Havet really has become the talk of the town. Offering a delicious range of authentic dishes

cold meze to start, two new dishes on the menu – butter bean chilli humus and kiyma borek – and Havet Choice of kalamar along with falafel. The atmosphere was busy and buzzing with families, couples, groups of friends and work colleagues clearly having a great time. Adding to the experience was being able to watch chefs working away in the open kitchen freshly preparing and cooking to order. Our salmon kebab main (cooked to perfection on the mangal to give an authentic chargrilled fl avour) along with the saslik kebab (another new dish on the menu) came with sides of fries and the crunchiest of seasonal salads, once again clearly having been prepared just prior to serving. My one regret? Portions were so

generous I could only settle for a square of absolutely divine and sticky (but not too sweet) baklava from the dessert menu and a

Turkish tea to round off a fantastic evening. • Havet, 150-152 High Street, Tonbridge TN9 1BB, call 01732 387387 or visit havetrestaurant.com/tonbridge-kent/
