BEAT THE CLOCK REVIEW YOUR ISA ALLOWANCE

Every year the government gives each of us an ISA allowance, this year it is £20,000 and £4,260 for children. However, this cannot be carried over. If you have not used your ISA allowance by 5th April 2019 you will lose it.

Beat the clock, make sure you have used your ISA allowance and reviewed the performance of your existing ISAs in plenty of time. At Four Oaks Financial Services we talk to our clients about ISAs because they are an ideal way to invest tax free. There is no capital gains tax to pay, no tax on UK income and you don’t need to add ISAs to your tax return.

You can choose to save in a Cash ISA or in a Stocks and Shares ISA. The Cash ISA is the safer option and a good place for money you may need in the shorter term. Stocks and Shares ISAs are ideal for investors who want to save for longer and are prepared to take an element of risk. Getting advice from a financial adviser is important, there can be implications for Inheritance Tax Planning and they have access to ISAs that are not available on the high street.

The value of pensions and investments and the income they produce can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you invested.

Investors do not pay any personal tax on income or gains, but ISAs do pay unrecoverable tax on income from stocks and shares re- ceived by the ISA managers.

The FCA do not regulate inheritance tax planning. 
