HEALTH & BEAUTY - MALVERN VIEW SPA

There’s definitely an unwritten rule that spa days should be shared with your girlfriends! I therefore decided to share the pamper day with one of my girlfriends and the dinner and Penthouse Suite stay with my hubby… sounded fair to me!

Our Winter Warmer Spa Day included two indulgent treatments, firstly the Taste of Truffle Facial. This mini version of the luxury Champagne and Truffles treatment combines premium truffle skincare with a specialist lifting massage – an exquisite Trufflesque mask and cold stone therapy that together irons out deep lines and wrinkles, helping to strengthen muscle tone and reduce puffiness. Put simply, this treatment transports you to a 'centre of wellness' within yourself. Afterwards you truly feel like you have invested in you, which is exactly how you should feel after a spot of pampering. My skin glowed and I experienced a sense of renewal, which may sound dramatic, but it's entirely true. The expert therapists ensure that the atmosphere and technique are both perfectly balanced and it's that professionalism that really makes a treatment effective.

Our second treatment was The 'Drift Away’ massage with hot stones, so aptly named, which is a dreamy blend of essential oils combined with a top-to-toe massage with just the right amount of pressure that really does take the pace of life down several notches and places both your mind and body somewhere else completely! Those who have a hectic pace of life should do themselves a favour and invest in this treatment; it's like a lifeline after a long week at work.

The gorgeous facilities allowed us to prolong our relaxed state by spending time in the steam room and Jacuzzi, followed by a glass of Champagne poolside. When compared with other spas, you'll note that it's the personal touches that only a family business can achieve that make the difference to your experience. Whether you want to feel cocooned or invigorated, Malvern View Spa at The Bank House Hotel possesses the ability to sense your needs and deliver.

Feeling 'other worldly' it was time to wave goodbye to my friend and to welcome my husband! Immediate bonus points…he noticed my glowing skin immediately! We actually felt like honeymooners checking into the Penthouse Suite, although it's used by families and corporate VIP guests in addition to brides and grooms, the 2,500 square feet of accommodation spoils you.

Thanks to my prolonged state of relaxation, I floated down to dinner and enjoyed a feast of dishes to include Butternut Squash Ravioli with toasted seeds and olive oil to start, which was ‘bellissimo’, whilst Dean opted for a Blackened Mackerel Fillet with potato salad, horseradish sorbet and dill oil, which was exquisite; the combination of flavours was quirky, yet perfect. We followed up with Seared Sea Bass Fillet with crushed potatoes, crab butter, samphire and Wye Valley asparagus with fennel purée and a delicious Roast Lamb Rack with pan haggerty, cavolo nero and rosemary Jus.

The freshest of quality ingredients and an undeniable talented crew in the kitchen ensured each dish more than impressed, whilst the service was attentive and professional, yet balanced with that sense of 'you’re amongst friends', which ensured that we relaxed and enjoyed the whole dining experience.

Delightfully full, we slipped back to our Penthouse Suite (I'll never tire of saying that) and enjoyed a great night’s sleep. Luckily the clocks went back, so we had an extra hour in the morning and took advantage of the big bath in our bedroom before the feast that was breakfast...

It comes as little surprise that The Malvern View Spa at the Bank House Hotel is a finalist in the Best Customer Service category of the 2018 Good Spa Guide Awards.

Located in Bransford, Worcestershire and boasting 66 bedrooms, a luxury spa, 18-hole golf course and wedding and conference facilities, the family-run Bank House Hotel has everything you need for the perfect staycation. My friends and I are already planning our next visit, which will get us through the madness of Christmas with another visit in January planned to detox!
