Mike Andrews, based on the UK south coast has been involved in building, repairing and inspecting wooden boats for many years and is regarded as something of a specialist and expert in this area of surveying. Additionally, he has served a term as a member of the IIMS education committee. Whilst many surveyors in the UK are wary of wood and its importance has increasingly diminished in the UK in favour of GRP, it remains an essential construction material in many parts of the world.
