The winner of the Digital Communications Campaign of the Year award was Barker Shoes Ltd.
The historic firm was established in 1880 in
Earls Barton and still employs traditional methods of shoemaking. Today it is owned by an international group
who are committed to maintaining the brand’s integrity. Barker Shoes Ltd received the award for its
work on creating, implementing and evaluating an outstandingly successful marketing campaign
during the previous 12 months, delivered by their digital agency, Visual Identity. International manager Ray Willmoth said: “It’s fantastic to have won this award. “Our success is down to the fact that we
have a great deal of heritage and provenance in Northamptonshire and we are bringing old world manufacturing to today’s world through new world technology. I think that people find that story compelling.” The Digital Communications Campaign of the
Year award was sponsored by Kemps Publishing. Barker Shoes Ltd went on to win the Northamptonshire Business Awards’ overall Business of the Year title.
