What the judges said

“Evie is already having a substantial influence on her organisation. She has successfully taken on large

projects that would not normally be expected of someone, so early in their career, to handle.”

Evie believes it is her dedication and ambition

that helped her take the Apprentice of the Year title. She said: “I think I won because of what I’ve done for the business, as opposed to myself. A lot of it is very male orientated so being female, very young and pregnant makes it very hard to shine, but I’ve really tried. I’ve done things over and above normal apprenticeships, going through level 3, 4 and 5.” The Apprentice of the Year award recognises

a rising star who will become a business leader of tomorrow. Open to all current or past apprentices aged 16–25 years old who demonstrate they have made an exceptional contribution to their workplace. The award was sponsored by Starting Off.
