some temporary power on a site but access was very limited. We couldn’t get any of our vehicles near enough to properly site the generator, so we called our rehire partner, MHM for advice.” After careful consideration, MHM felt that one of its 30kVA super-silenced sets fitted onto a
road tow trailer would be ideally suited for this application. The genset was duly despatched from headquarters and it arrived the very next day at Stuart Energy’s office in Skelmersdale, Lancashire. Stuart Energy’s engineers towed the generator to the client’s site and with some careful
manoeuvrings soon had the power up-and-running. Lee continued: “Our client was delighted. MHM’s service is always excellent. Its hire desk is
polite, helpful and never keeps you hanging around. Thanks to its modern equipment and excellent aftersales service, we are always confident that we are going to get the right equipment for our customers.” Stuart Energy Limited was formed in February 2018 and is operated by Brothers Lee and

20MW Broxburn Energy facility is ‘a giant leap forward’
The modernisation of Scotland’s energy network has taken a giant leap forward with the official opening of the country’s first utility-scale battery facility - a crucial element to maximise the use of renewables. Seen as a key enabler in the transition towards a cleaner energy future, the full commissioning of the 20MW battery storage facility in West Lothian represents a milestone in helping Scotland
and owned by The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG), the Broxburn Energy Storage facility provides services to National Grid. It charges when there is excess capacity – or ‘too much’ power – on the Grid. This energy will be saved for periods of peak demand, helping balance the National Grid network. These types of enhanced frequency
meet its promised decarboni- sation goals. Built and managed by RES
response projects are anticipated to save the National Grid £200m, which in turn means lower costs to the end consumer. Scotland’s Minister for
Trade, Investment and Innovation, Ivan McKee, who toured the Broxburn Energy Storage project, commented: “I am very pleased to have had the chance to open the Broxburn Energy Storage project, which is Scotland’s first sub-second response energy storage project.” As well as being the largest
