HOWARD ROSE is Director of Funding and Publicity at Balsall Common Primary School. He secures grants, sponsorship


and support from businesses to enhance teaching and learning. Earlier this year, Howard was awarded a British Empire Medal for services to education in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.


RACHEL GORDON runs the School Funding Service, which helps schools across the UK win grants for a wide range of


projects, from playgrounds and sports equipment to after-school clubs and extended services. She writes bids for schools and advises them on how to maximise their funding potential.

sustainable strategic financial plans and building financial resilience. She represents ASCL in the campaign for sufficient, sustainable and equitable funding for education and belongs to a number of DfE strategy groups.

clients in the academies and education sector. Outside of work, Phil is a governor at a local primary school and is active on social media.


SAMI MAUGER is Head of Coaching and Project Innovation at Crowdfunder – the UK’s largest rewards-based crowdfunding network.


Sami oversees ongoing research and development to help projects become more successful. She also manages the delivery of expert guidance on strategic projects across a variety of channels and formats.
