Celebrating the benefits of cycling
MAIDSTONE CycleFest returned to the county town at the end of Sep- tember to promote the pastime and spread awareness of its benefits. The event took place in Jubilee
Square where a juice bike was ped- alled to produce a smoothie from fruit. Kent Police provided free security
marking to crack down on cycle thefts and basic trainingwas offered to novices. Len Pottswas on hand to showoff
an exhibition of a dozen vintage bikes, including a WWII para- trooper’s cycle and another ridden at the Olympic Games. The CycleFest is now in its third
year and was organised by the Maidstone Cycle Campaign Forum and held on September 2 9 .
