Arrests follow clu b stabbings


TWOmenarrested after analleged dou ble stabbing at a towncentre clu b have beenreleased . The incident happened in the


early hours of September 2 3 , at Dusk2Dawn, apopular Maidstone night spot. Police taped off the scene and


forensic teams went in to scour the venue for clues. Officers from Kent Police were


called after reports of an attack at 4am, when two men were found outside the club with stab wounds including apunctured kidney and stomach. Bothwere taken to aLondon hos-


pital for treatment. According to reports, a witness


said aman approached the victims looking for drugs. The situation al- legedly turned ugly when the men told himtheywere not interested. Two men, a 2 9 -year-old from


Gravesend and another fromSwan- ley,aged2 8 ,werearrested on suspi-


cion of assault but were later re- leased frompolice custody pending further enquiries. A police spokesman said the al-


leged victims and assailants were known to one another. A number of people were in the


areaat the time of the disturbance and these people are being tracked down by detectives for possible in- terview. Witnesses or anyone who might
