your neck” one more time. Included here is a selection of my photos and a few others from the good times.

-Peter Cross, Coventry, United Kingdom

singing career a long time ago but seeing her still straining with complete involvement, joy and passion as she sang along with others in a church pew, in the back of a car or on the stage at a local diner was an uplifting and un- forgettable experience, as was listening to Jeanie’s war stories from studios and the road, all slowly but sharply recalled in great detail. The whole world can see something of all this in an excellent three part interview with Jeanie Greene on YouTube. I found Jeanie to be a kind, warm

hearted and mischievous soul, who never quite recovered from a few hard knocks dealt to her early on. To have shared our lives and appreciation towards the end was a complete joy.

Jeanie never started to use a computer

but was happy for me to set up a Facebook page in her name (www.facebook.com/jeaniegreenelee), to start documenting her work and to provide a contact forum for others too. My thoughts and spirit was at the funeral home in Corinth on Friday 24 August and over the coming days will remain with family and friends who worked with and knew Jeanie for better than I.

Thank you, Jeanie, wish I could “hug Jeanie with Bonnie Bramlettl. (Peter Cross Photo)
