Front Desk Team Third in a series of ministries that can help you live God’s love BY SUSAN KELLER


“Good morning, First Presbyterian Church, Susan speaking. How may I help you?”


A simple start to helping a caller. Te calls could be of a serious nature, a person needing financial help, or a family member reporting the passing of a parent. Other calls are typical of what everyone receives at home—like robocalls selling various products or services! Tere is never a routine or prediction of what you are facing with either incoming calls or visitors.


Te FPCA front desk is a happening place—and a gathering place at times, with teens going on a mission assignment or to Dorney Park. It’s a place for church members to meet and plan an upcoming event or to request a meeting with one of our fine pastors.


After a lifelong career in the health care industry and facing retirement, I saw a request in the Sunday Bulletin for help at the reception desk. I thought this was a great opportunity to see how the church functions behind the scenes and provide assistance to our support staff. It has not disappointed me to assist the public, the church, and my fellow congregation members. I enjoy meeting and training new volunteers, and participating in this ministry has provided the opportunity to better know them and make new friends.

Different days and shifts bring different challenges and needs for the front desk receptionist. Weekday shifts are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.


Te Weekday Reception Ministry (front desk team) and support staff would welcome anyone interested to join and learn further all the services that are offered. Please contact Joanne Stock in the church office for additional information at 610-395-3781, ext.36.
