Dr. Ayelet Connell Presents Gluten- Free and Paleo Cooking Classes at West Hartford’s Cookshop Plus
and a coffee bar in West Hartford Center, is pairing up with Dr. Ayelet Connell and presenting a series of cooking classes focusing on Gluten-Free and the Paleo Diet. Dr. Connell will be teaching a series of
W
classes available to the community, teaching people how to cook and bake gluten-free and ‘paleo’. The fi rst class will be on Wednes- day evening, September 26, at 6:30pm. (Registration is through the Cookshop Plus website or storefront. Cost to register is $65.)
For many years, the Gluten-free diet has been touted to support
chronic pain and other infl ammatory conditions. Over the past decade, the Paleo diet has also gained momentum in the natural health world. Research has shown that the Paleo diet is very effec- tive in reducing infl ammatory syndromes as well as auto-immune dysfunction. The main emphasis of the Paleo diet is to eat ample fresh foods such as fresh vegetables and fruit, natural meat, fi sh, natural eggs, nuts and seeds, along with ample healthy fats. Dur- ing these cooking classes, Connell will have students participate in cooking a multi-course meal (with dessert!) that fi ts the Paleo diet. Students will leave with easy-to-follow recipes along with new knowledge on the benefi ts of gluten-free and Paleo and how to incorporate into your life. Connell has spent the last 25 years growing her love of natural cooking and developing her knowledge and skills in the kitchen through grass-roots living. Currently, she is a Natural Food Blogger and Healthy Eating Coach, specializing in Gluten-free and the Paleo diet.
