foreign assassin is one who is hired to kill; a Filipino assassin is one who is hired to be killed. As was the case of Rolando Galman, remember? It is important to recall
that soon after Marcos declared Martial Law, one American high-ranking official, former U.S. Sen. William J. Fulbright, described the Philippines as “a country composed of 40 million cowards and one son of a bitch, otherwise, they would have risen against the destroyer of their freedom!” (Shocking? Forward to 2018, the new version would be: “a country composed of 100 million cowards...”)
For our generation who lived through Martial Law, remembering Cory means: reminding the next generations to value their freedom; remembering the horrors of Martial Law; urging them to never allow it to happen again.
Those born after the People Power Revolution need to know about the thousands of human rights violations that happened during the Marcos regime,
the muzzling of the press, and the curtailment of freedom during the Martial Law era. The 1987 Constitution was born out of the Martial Law experience; from the sacrifices, the blood, sweat and tears borne by those who were willing to fight so that future generations may live to enjoy life free from oppression.
Let us honor them by ensuring that, no matter what, we must all stand united to protect our democracy, against the oppressors and the pretenders.
Can there be genuine change with the proposed Charter change if the same people responsible during the Martial Law years are now slowly creeping back to the halls of power? Are we going to allow
ourselves to be cal led “a nation of 100 million cowards”? (Is that a joke? But the joke is on you!) We believe: God works in mysterious ways. We just need to trust His wisdom, and be guided by His hand!

hauler and operator. GRDI applied for a “mining operator” business permit while Pilipinas Eco Friendly applied for “mining contractor (with) GRDI as its principal,” he added.
The Ayungon Mayor said he is considering going one step further by taking legal action to once and for all put a stop to the problem that he said has been going on for years. But the conflict doesn’t
end there.
Two Cebu-based companies, Pilipinas Eco- Friendly Mining Corp., represented by Mark Yu of Cebu City, and Pilipinas Logistics & Technological Solutions Inc. represented by Rodien Paca of Naga City, Cebu, have revealed that they had filed cases before the Ombudsman against Mayor Enardecido for robbery with violence/ intimidation of persons, as well as grave misconduct and oppression.
PEMC likewise filed a case against the Mayor’s son, Keith Enardecido, who operates a truck business engaged in hauling silica from the mining operations. The cases stemmed from an incident on April 7, 2017 when the trucks hauling silica were not allowed to enter the port in barangay Tampocon.
